Privacy Policy
Last updated 5 August 2026
The short version
Soul Lift is built to work without knowing much about you. Everything you do is stored on your own device first, and the app is fully usable with no account, no email, and no internet connection.
This policy covers both the Soul Lift app and the soul-lift.net website, including the launch waitlist.
We do not sell your data, we do not show ads, and there is no advertising or cross-site tracking anywhere in the app or on the website. The app measures nothing at all. The website counts visits using Cloudflare Web Analytics, which sets no cookies, follows you nowhere else, and builds no profile of you.
What stays only on your device
The answers you give during onboarding — your age range, gender, relationship status, star sign, how you’re feeling, what you want to improve, and anything you typed — never leave your phone. They are not uploaded to our servers, and they are never sent to any AI provider.
The same is true of any affirmations you write yourself, of the background photos you add, of your music-volume setting, and of which days of the week your reminders fire on.
What we store if you create an account
Adding an email and password is optional and exists for one reason: so your progress survives a lost or replaced phone. If you do, we store the following on our servers, hosted by Supabase:
- Your email address and an encrypted form of your password.
- Your display name, if you entered one.
- Your streak: current run, longest run, total days practised, the date you last practised, and which streak milestones you have already been congratulated for.
- Your saved (favourite) affirmations.
- A per-day record of which topic categories you read. This is kept for 90 days and then automatically deleted.
- The topics you chose to focus on, and your daily goal.
- Your chosen background theme.
- Whether affirmation reminders are switched on, how many you asked for, and the daily window they are spread across. The days of the week you picked, and the guided and streak reminders, stay on the device — a notification schedule belongs to a phone rather than to an account.
Anonymous accounts
When the app first launches it may quietly create an anonymous account for you. This has no email attached and identifies a device, not a person — it exists so that your data has somewhere to live if you later decide to add an email. If you never do, that anonymous record holds nothing that identifies you.
The launch waitlist
If you join the waitlist on soul-lift.net, we store the email address you typed and the date you typed it, and nothing else — no name, no IP address, no device information, and no advertising identifier. The waitlist is held by Cloudflare on servers in Australia.
We use it for one thing: to tell you once, when Soul Lift is available on the App Store. We do not add you to a mailing list, we do not send marketing in the meantime, and we never sell or share the address.
You can have it removed at any time by emailing soulliftsupport@gmail.com. We delete the whole waitlist once the launch email has been sent.
The occasional nudge
The short nudge that sometimes appears at the top of the Home screen is generated by Google’s Gemini model. To produce it we send a deliberately minimal summary: your current streak length, the names of the topic categories you read, and the dates you practised.
We do not send your name, your email, your onboarding answers, anything you have written, or any indication of your mood. The model cannot identify you from what it receives.
You should know that Google’s free service tier may use content submitted to it to improve their models. This is precisely why the summary we send contains no personal or identifying information.
Notifications
Daily reminders are scheduled locally by your own phone. We are not told when they fire, whether you opened them, or whether you dismissed them, and no reminder data reaches our servers.
Photos you upload
If you add your own background photo, it is copied into the app’s private storage on your device. It is not uploaded to us and not shared with anyone. You can keep up to 20, and removing one — or resetting the app — deletes the copy the app made, not just the entry in the list.
Payments
If you subscribe to Soul Lift Premium, the payment is handled entirely by Apple through your App Store account. We never see or store your card details, and Apple tells us only whether a subscription is active.
We use RevenueCat to keep track of whether your subscription is active. They receive a random identifier for your installation and the purchase receipt Apple issues — not your name, your email, or anything you do in the app.
Children
Soul Lift is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your rights and choices
You can erase everything held on your device at any time using Profile → Settings → Reset app.
You can delete your account yourself at any time, without asking us: Profile → Settings → Account → Delete account removes your account and every record attached to it from our servers immediately and permanently. For anything else — a copy of your data, or a correction — email soulliftsupport@gmail.com and we will action it. Depending on where you live you may have these rights under the GDPR, the UK GDPR, or the CCPA; we honour them regardless of where you live.
If you think we have handled your information badly, please tell us first at soulliftsupport@gmail.com — we would rather fix it. You can also complain to a regulator: in Australia that is the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au), and elsewhere it is your local data protection authority.
Service providers
A small number of companies process data on our behalf, under their own terms and only for the purpose described:
- Supabase — account storage and syncing.
- Google (Gemini) — generating the nudge described above.
- RevenueCat — checking whether your Premium subscription is active.
- Apple — subscriptions, payment, and delivery of the app itself.
- Cloudflare — hosting the soul-lift.net and help.soul-lift.net websites, the launch waitlist, and the cookieless visit counts.
Where your data is held
Soul Lift is run from Australia. The waitlist is stored in Australia. Account data held by Supabase, and the brief summary sent to Google to write a nudge, may be processed on servers in other countries, including the United States.
Where personal information leaves the country you are in, we rely on the contractual protections offered by those providers. If you would rather nothing left your device at all, you can use Soul Lift entirely without an account — that is a supported way to use it, not a degraded one.
How long we keep things
Account data is kept for as long as the account exists, and disappears the moment you delete it. The per-day record of which topics you read is kept for 90 days and then deleted automatically. Waitlist addresses are deleted once the launch email has been sent. Anything held only on your device lasts until you remove it or uninstall the app.
Keeping your data safe
Traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit, passwords are stored only in hashed form, and access to account data is restricted per account at the database level so one account cannot read another’s.
No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise. If a breach ever affects your personal information we will tell you, and the regulator, as the law requires.
Changes to this policy
If we change what we collect or how we use it, we will update this page and the date at the top. Continuing to use Soul Lift after a change means you accept the updated policy.
Terms & Conditions
Last updated 5 August 2026
Agreement
These terms are between you and Soul Lift (“we”, “us”), and they govern your use of the Soul Lift app and of our websites at soul-lift.net and help.soul-lift.net, including the launch waitlist. By using any of them you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please stop.
Soul Lift is not medical care
This is the most important term here. Soul Lift provides affirmations and general wellbeing content for reflection. It is not therapy, counselling, or medical advice, and it is not a substitute for care from a qualified professional.
Nothing in the app — including the AI-written nudges — should be used to diagnose or treat any condition, and you should not delay or disregard professional advice because of something you read here.
If you are in crisis or may be at risk of harming yourself, please contact your local emergency services or a crisis line immediately. Soul Lift cannot help in an emergency and does not monitor for them.
Your account
You may use Soul Lift without an account. If you create one, you are responsible for keeping your password secure and for activity that happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe it has been compromised.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Soul Lift.
Free and paid features
Soul Lift has a free tier and a paid subscription called Soul Lift Premium. The free tier is a complete daily practice: an affirmation every day, unlimited swiping, favourites, affirmations you write yourself, streaks and reminders, together with six topics, six backgrounds and two app icons. Premium adds the remaining topics, backgrounds and app icons, and the guided sessions.
Which features sit in which tier may change as the app develops. If we move something out of the free tier we will say so in the app before it happens.
Subscriptions and payment
The price, billing period and any free trial are shown to you before you buy, and payment is taken by Apple through your App Store account. A free trial converts to a paid subscription automatically unless you cancel before it ends.
Subscriptions renew automatically unless you turn renewal off at least 24 hours before the period ends. You manage and cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID settings, not in Soul Lift — we cannot cancel or refund an App Store purchase on your behalf. Refunds are handled by Apple under their policies.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Break the law, or use Soul Lift to harm or harass anyone.
- Copy, resell, or redistribute the affirmation library or other app content.
- Reverse engineer the app, or try to access accounts or data that are not yours.
- Interfere with the app’s operation, or attempt to overwhelm or probe our systems.
Content you write
Affirmations you write and photos you add remain yours. They are stored on your own device and we do not claim any rights over them.
Our content
The affirmation library, artwork, designs, and the Soul Lift name remain our property or our licensors’. You get a personal, non-transferable licence to use them inside the app, and nothing more.
Availability
We aim to keep Soul Lift working but cannot promise it will always be available or error-free. Features may change or be withdrawn, and syncing depends on services and connections outside our control.
Your data
Because Soul Lift stores your progress on your device, uninstalling the app without an account permanently deletes it. Keep an account if that matters to you — we cannot recover data we never held.
Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, the app is provided “as is”, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost data. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
If you are in Australia, our goods and services come with guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies those guarantees. Where we are permitted to limit our liability for breaching one, we limit it to supplying the service again or paying the cost of having it supplied again.
Ending your use
You can stop using Soul Lift at any time by deleting it. We may suspend or end access if these terms are seriously or repeatedly broken.
Changes
We may update these terms. If a change is significant we will make that clear in the app, and continuing to use Soul Lift means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, and disputes fall to the courts of Victoria, Australia.
